The best lessons are learned by failing.
Our farm is a story of failures that looks like a success today!
1. Drilled 3 bore wells. All failed.
2. Paid a person to water the mango saplings. He did not do his job. No saplings could survive.
3. Dug a pond. Made it 20 feet deep to increase storage. Groundwater level was so depleted that after almost 3 years water was retained till the onset of monsoon.
4. With ample water in the pond, attempted growing fish. Failed. The pond was too deep for raising fish.
5. The orchard has fully developed now. But, mangoes in our region come a bit too late (By Mid-May). So it is commercially unviable!
6. Caretakers fled with the farm produce two times.
Today, if I am given an option to roll back 20 years, and do things right in the first instance, I would not take that choice.
The failures make interesting stories.
