Data is critical to make informed decisions. However, too much data does not guarantee a better solution. Overfitting is a result of attempting to fit all the data points in the model. Such a model is rigid and not adaptive to variance in the underlying factors. Most often, such a model is built considering noise as valid data.
Overfitting makes species less adaptable to the changing environment. Organisms with overly specialized traits struggle to survive when conditions change. Conversely, species with more generalist traits have a better chance of adapting to diverse environments and surviving over the long term.
Cockroaches have survived while the Dinosaurs have become extinct!
Societies that rigidly adhere to specific cultural norms or practices may struggle to adapt to changing social, economic, or environmental conditions. Societies that are more flexible and open to innovation tend to fare better in the long run.
Centuries before the advent of the internet and connectivity, the Silk Route integrated different cultures, cuisines, religions, and languages. This enriched those regions immensely.
