Digital Krishnaniti

Mahabharata offers us many templates to tackle current business challenges. In the times of Digital Transformation, the battlefronts and weapons have changed. But, from times immortal, the underlying key concepts haven't changed. Typically, competitive tactics involve 5 major steps - Gathering Intelligence, Analyzing Data, Market Penetration, Building Defenses, and Winning. These are not different from the tactics used in Mahabharata by Lord Krishna.

Krishna sent spies to gather intelligence about the Kauravas' plans. One example is in the Udyoga Parva. Krishna instructed Sahadeva to gather information about the strength and strategies of the Kaurava army.

Today, organizations gather market intelligence using digital spies like Mention and Hootsuite.

After gathering intelligence, Krishna and Arjuna strategized their plan based on their understanding of the enemy's strengths and weaknesses. Specific plans were developed for countering the strengths of Bhisma, Karna, Duryodhan, and Dronacharya.

Tools like SEMrush and SimilarWeb allow marketers and strategists to peek behind the curtain of their competitors' digital strategies, uncovering valuable data on their website traffic, search engine rankings, advertising tactics, and audience demographics.

Krishna advised the Pandavas to form alliances with various kingdoms and tribes to strengthen their position. In one such instance, Krishna negotiated with the powerful king of Matsya, Virata, to secure his support.

Platforms like Ahrefs and Moz analyze competitors' backlink profiles, uncovering hidden opportunities for collaboration, guest blogging, and link building.

Throughout the Mahabharata, Krishna employed various defensive strategies to protect the Pandavas' interests. One of these strategies was to effectively prevent the Kauravas from discovering the Pandavas' location during their exile.

Having a deep understanding of the strategies adopted by the competition, companies can develop campaigns to target specific audiences.

Ultimately, Pandavas' victory was a result of the brilliant strategy and mentoring of Lord Krishna.
