I watched a video of a flash mob playing music in Sabadell.
There are many lessons to be learned from it. Here are some of my observations:
1. Initially, a marketer should tell the story only to a certain segment. If that segment gets engaged, it spreads the word, and soon you make a transition to the mass market. Watch the artist start playing the music only for a small girl and her family.
2. The musicians join one after the other. It is planned. But, every addition results in a disproportionate increase in the audience. Businesses should have a plan to add resources at an appropriate time. One of the important metrics to track is Return on Assets (ROA).
3. The audience is delighted because, despite the addition of several instruments, they all play in perfect harmony. Similarly, it is essential to have all the processes in an organization to be perfectly tuned.
4. If a customer is delighted, you do not need a survey to confirm. It is apparent from their reactions. In the video, the crowd becomes part of the group and sings along. Even a small girl climbs a lamp post to be part of the process.
Of course, all these factors are true, only if we have an outstanding product/service to start with.
