We are slowly coming out of the Corona Pandemic. The last year has been stressful for us. We have many things to worry about - health, income, changing business models, investments, future of our loved ones. But human beings have faced an existential crisis many times in their evolution. Here is my simple recipe for tiding over this crisis.
Arrive Early - Leave Late
I plan the meetings with my client in Mumbai at 8 am. It means starting from my place at 6 am. That means I need to make my choices of what not to do on the earlier day. The early routine helps me avoid traffic. But, more importantly, it has several other benefits. Firstly, I need to plan my day. I have got to have my notes ready, decide on the clothes to wear, schedule meetings in advance. It sets the tone for the day. It brings clarity, speed, and planning to my work. A day started early, usually ends late. It brings positivity and helps to get accomplished a lot. Throughout the day, you work with a sense of control. Those are the critical ingredients to tide over any crisis - not just the pandemic but virtually in any form.
I find that this recipe works both in professional and personal life. For example, arrive early for a party and help the host. Not only will you strengthen relations, but also enjoy the party more and network with many more people.
